CIS 367 - Data CommunicationsCredits: 3 This course is designed to give the student a thorough understanding of the existing use of data communication networks as well as future developments in the area of telecommunications. The course topics will include the basic hardware needed for a functioning network, basic technical concepts of data communications, the various types of network configurations, and circuits. Also needed will be network design techniques, protocols, software, network architecture, local area networks, network management, and security and control issues related to networks. Prerequisite(s): CIS 305 and junior standing Effective spring 2018 - junior standing
