HIST 347 - European Reformations


Credits: 3

An introduction to the major religious, political and social features of the many movements termed the European Reformations. Consideration of significant social and political, in addition to the religious aspects of the reform movements which ultimately disrupted the Catholic unity of Europe and served to help define Christian theology in the early modern period are covered. The course will also explore the popular responses to reform ideas and their eventual impact on European history.

Prerequisite(s): sophomore standing.
