PHYS 375 - Mathematical Methods for Physicists

Physics 375 is a course that introduces students to advanced mathematics and its applications to problem-solving in physics and engineering. Possible topics include: Linear Algebra; Complex Analysis with emphasis on countour integrals and approximations, Fourier Series and Fourier Transforms; Differential Equations with emphasis on typical Special Functions, asymptotic and perturbative methods and Green’s functions; Calculus of Variations. 

Prerequisite(s): MATH 366  and PHYS 206
