Secondary and All-Grades Education Teaching Majors

Students who wish to obtain a license to teach in grades 5-8 must major in one of the following areas and complete a secondary education minor.

Major areas include

• Business
• English (Language Arts)
• Mathematics
• Science:  chemistry, earth sciences, life sciences (biology), and physics
• Social Studies: candidates are licensed in historical perspectives (other areas may be added).

With a major in one of the following areas and an all-grades education minor, students may be eligible for a P-12 teaching licence.

• French Studies
• German Studies
• Spanish Studies
• Physical Education
• Visual Arts
