GEOL 301 - Mineralogy

Credits: 4

Systematic lecture and laboratory study of minerals, including their chemical composition, atomic structure, physical properties, and conditions of formation. Laboratory emphasizes crystallography, optical properties, and hand specimen identification of common rock-forming and economic minerals. Prerequisite(s): C or better in GEOL 151  or  GEOL 161  and C or better in CHEM 175  or CHEM 261 .
