GEOL 316 - Sedimentology and Stratigraphy Credits: 4
Lecture and laboratory study of composition, texture, description lithologic classification, correlation, and paleoenvironmental interpretation of sediments and sedimentary rocks. Use of subsurface data including cores and geophysical well logs. Laboratory includes thin sections and field studies.
Prerequisite(s): C or better in GEOL 162 and GEOL 261 ; C or better in MATH 111 or placement into MATH 115 , MATH 118 , or MATH 230 .
