PSY 361 - Child and Adolescent Psychology


Credits: 3

This course takes an in-depth look at physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development and the inter-relationships of each from conception to adolescence. Topics such as the effects of heredity as well as pre and post-natal environments on growth will be examined in the context of current and classical research in the field. Emphasis will be placed on recent advances in the understanding of forces affecting adaptive and maladaptive development. This course has a service learning component, requiring that 15-20 hours of the semester’s workload be with an outside organization.
