PHYS 375 - Mathematical Methods for Physicists


Credits: 3

This course introduces students to advanced mathematics and its applications to problem-solving in physics and engineering. Possible topics include: linear algebra; complex analysis with emphasis on countour integrals and approximations, Fourier series and Fourier transforms; differential equations with emphasis on typical special functions, asymptotic and perturbative methods and Green’s functions; calculus of variations. 

Prerequisite(s): MATH 366  and PHYS 206
