ME 467 - Compliant Mechanism Design Credits: 3
This course focuses on the design and analysis of compliant mechanisms, or mechanisms that derive their motion from flexing of the material itself. Topics such as linear elastic deflection and kinematics will be reviewed followed by the introduction of large-deflection analysis. Compliant mechanism theory and compliant deployable structures, including origami-inspired mechanisms, will be explored.
