An accelerated, intensive study that teaches students to identify and interpret the complex elements important in a particular cultural setting or era (e.g. history, values, politics, communication styles, economy, or beliefs and practices). Course topic and content will vary. Can be repeated once with topic change; second course will count as a directed elective in the MALS.
