MATH 103 - Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I


Credits: 3

This course is the first course in a three-course sequence designed to enhance the conceptual understanding and processes of the common content in elementary mathematics curricula. Topics include problem solving, counting, the structure of the decimal system and procedural and conceptual understanding of the four basic operations on whole numbers, decimals and fractions. The use of manipulatives and technology will support learning and teaching in these and other topics studied. Enrollment is only open to students seeking a degree in education or a related degree.

Prerequisite(s): MATH 081 , MATH 085  or satisfactory placement score
