NRSG 621 - Advanced Pathophysiology for the APRN

This course provides an in-depth examination of human pathophysiological processes across the lifespan, with an emphasis on the cellular and systemic responses to disease. Students explore the complex mechanisms underlying common and complex health conditions, focusing on alterations in function at the molecular, cellular, organ, and multisystem levels. Integration of current scientific evidence supports the advanced practice nurse in clinical decision-making and diagnostic reasoning. Clinical case examples and application of physiologic principles prepare students to assess, differentiate, and anticipate disease progression in diverse populations. This foundational knowledge supports safe, effective, and evidence-based care delivery in advanced nursing practice.
