Business Humanities MinorCollege of Liberal Arts >> English 18 hours; 2.0 minor GPA required The Business Humanities minor will not only emphasize analytical, critical thinking, and research skills to empower students across the curriculum, but also engage cross-cultural, empathetic, and imaginative skills. Business students typically engage in data gathering, research, and analysis to prepare for professional practice; however, emphasis on ethical analysis that humanistic approaches provide will enrich their learning in valuable ways. Business Humanities offers students opportunities to broaden their audiences, contexts, purposes, and consider transhistorical, cross-cultural business concerns from human-centered, multicultural perspectives. Moreover, Business Humanities’ focus on empathetic critical thinking and decision making also encourages students to practice imaginative problem solving, one of the most desirable employee characteristics identified by prospective employers. |
