Mathematics Teaching Major, B.A./B.S.

45 hours

Students pursuing a degree in Mathematics Teaching will complete all requirements for a degree in mathematics as well as three additional courses: MATH 291 - Mathematics for Secondary Teachers ; MATH 323 - College Geometry ; and MATH 391 - The Teaching of Mathematics in Grades 5-12 . Successful completion of this degree will prepare students for a career in teaching mathematics in grades 5-12. Students seeking an Indiana teaching license must complete all requirements as mandated by the state.

Electives (9 hours)


Electives must include at least one of the following. The remaining elective courses are to be selected from upper-level course offerings in mathematics as directed by advisor.
