The interdisciplinary Film Studies minor is a 21-hour credit program focusing primarily on film criticism. The minor requires two courses, CMST 286 - Visual Rhetoric and Culture and ENG 185 - Introduction to Film . Also a Core 39 course, ENG 185 introduces students to consuming film, while CMST 286 introduces students to analytical frameworks for interpreting film and other visual forms of communication. The remainder of the courses are determined by students in consultation with their faculty advisors. The electives in the minor include courses in Communication Studies, English, History, and World Languages and Cultures.
