Secondary and All-Grades Education Teaching Majors

Students who wish to obtain a license to teach in grades 5-12 must complete a content major and complete a secondary education minor.

The Teacher Education minor in secondary education may accompany the following majors to prepare discipline-specific teachers of grades 5-12:

• Mathematics Teaching
• Biology
• Chemistry (non-ACS approved)
• Physics
• English Teaching
• History
• Science Teaching with concentration in Chemistry, Earth/Space Science, Life Sciences, Physical Science, Physics

The Teacher Education minor in P-12 education may accompany the following majors to prepare discipline-specific teachers in grades P-12

• French Studies Teaching
• German Studies Teaching
• Spanish Studies Teaching
• Visual Arts Teaching
