Romain College of Business

12 hours

Students completing the Cybersecurity Certificate will gain an in depth understanding of cybersecurity through the study of behavioral, technical, operational, and strategic approaches to the issues associated with cyber threats.

Coursework in this certificate will cover a survey of the expanse of this field. It will then focus on the tools, techniques, and strategies needed to assess an organizations cybersecurity stance, and then recommend a response where weaknesses are identified. Further, there is an opportunity within this certificate path for students to pursue specific interests within the cybersecurity domain such as cyber forensics, ethical hacking, and others.

Certificate Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 credit hours toward the certificate must be completed at the University.
  • Credit hours earned for a certificate may be applied toward another degree program. However, a student cannot earn a certificate that is fully embedded (or subsumed) with the requirements of his/her majors or minor, but must include at least three (3) unique credit hours.
  • Coursework taken more than 4 years before the certificate is awarded may not be applied toward certificate requirements.
