Health Administration Major, B.S.

The Health Administration program delivers an educational program of study that prepares qualified graduates for entry-level positions in the professional practice sector of the health administration career field, whether in private, corporate, or governmental organizations, with a focus on both acute and post-acute care. The program is based on the competencies established by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Board (NAB). 

Internship or AIT Residency


Health Administration majors choose from either a two semester internship totaling 7 credit hours or a two semester administrator in training (AIT) residency totaling 12 credit hours.

Internship (7 Hours)


Students choosing the internship option will enroll in a 3 hour internship course one semester followed by a 4 hour internship course the next semester. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher when applying for the internship.

AIT Residency (12 Hours)


Students choosing the AIT Residency in long term care option will enroll in the 6 hour residency course during two consecutive semesters, for a total of 12 credit hours.
