Students interested in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography major should refer to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography  section of the bulletin for an overview of the DMS program, including available options and admission requirements. Students who are currently a registered radiographer and are seeking a radiologic technology specialty should refer to the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences  section of the bulletin for an overview of the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences program, including admission requirements and specialty options available to degree completion students.

Radiologic and Imaging Sciences Curriculum


Refer to the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences  section of the bulletin for an overview of the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences program, including admission requirements.

Radiologic and Imaging Sciences majors must complete Core 39 and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. A grade of C or better is required in all radiologic and imaging sciences courses (RADT and DMS), HP 115 , and the following Core 39 courses: UNIV 101 , ENG 101 , ENG 201 , CMST 101  or CMST 107 , Mathematics, IPH 356 , Scientific and Mathematical Inquiry (PHYS 101 , PHYS 361 , or PHYS 371 ), BIOL 121 , and BIOL 122 .

Requirements for Core 39


Foundations: 14 hours (minimum)

Ways of Knowing: 12 hours (minimum)

Required categories:

And select two (2) additional categories from among:

  • Social Inquiry
  • World Languages and Culture
Bachelor of Science: 13 hours (minimum)

Embedded Experiences

  • When choosing courses to complete the Ways of Knowing and Bachelor of Science categories, students should select courses that ensure the Diversity Embedded Experience and Global Embedded Experience categories are also satisfied.
