Latin American Studies Minor

The minor in Latin American Studies is an interdisciplinary program committed to promoting diversity and an understanding of Latin America in a globalized context. The program aims to provide students with knowledge of concepts, themes, and perspectives related to Latin America both historically and contemporarily while emphasizing the social, cultural, and political dimensions of Latin America through an approach that fosters cultural and linguistic competency.

Electives (12 hours)


Students complete a total of 12 hours of electives from among two groups.  Select at least one course, but not more than three courses, from each group.

1 Course topic requires advisor approval and must focus on Latin America.

2 Course can be taken more than once, as long as the topic differs.
