MATH 233 - Mathematics for Elementary Teachers III

This course is the third course in a three-course sequence designed to enhance the conceptual understanding and processes of the common content in elementary mathematics curricula. Topics include geometry (e.g., properties of segments, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, and circles, and symmetry, congruence, and similarity) and measurement (e.g., principles of measurement for length, area, and volume). The use of manipulatives and technology will support learning and teaching in these, and other topics studied. Enrollment is only open to students seeking a degree in education or a related degree.

Prerequisite(s): MATH 223 (grade of C or better) and a major in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education. (Students in these Pre-majors are also permitted.)
