EDUC 480 - Diversity in Children’s Literature Credits: 3
This course examines the representation of diverse populations in literature for children and adolescents. In the course, students have an opportunity to read a variety of multicultural books written for students in grades K-8, research authors who write and illustrate multicultural books, examine the multiple perspectives represented in books advertised as multicultural and discuss using the books in classrooms.
Prerequisite(s): EDUC 203 and EDUC 221 ; Restricted to Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Special Education majors.
