ENG 413 - Theory in Rhetoric and Writing Credits: 3
A course that examines the historical development of rhetoric and writing studies, paying special attention to current theory and pedagogy. Course includes reading in major movements from pre-process to post-process; modes of inquiry such as theoretical, historical, and empirical; and areas of special importance to today’s teachers and scholars, including feminist rhetoric, culture studies, and social justice. Counts toward the directed elective requirement within the English teaching major and fulfills the directed elective/theory requirement within the Rhetoric and Writing Emphasis.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 201 and junior standing.
