GEOL 161 - Introduction to Geology


Credits: 4

This course will focus on minerals and rocks, volcanoes, Earth’s internal structure, plate tectonics, and surface processes.  Aspects of geology that impact society will also be addressed, such as flooding and earthquakes.  The laboratory provides hands-on activities that supplement material presented in lecture. Meets The University Core Curriculum  C3: Science category. Prerequisite(s): C or better in MATH 100 , or placement in MATH 111 .
