Abstract Algebra offers an introduction to the main ideas of abstract mathematics and algebraic structures. The primary focus of this course will be group theory with an introduction to ring and field theory. Emphasis of the course is placed on the writing and critiquing of mathematical proofs concerning algebraic structures. Prerequisite(s): MATH 253 and MATH 362 .
