SOCW 672 - Legal, Ethical & Professional Standards in Addiction Science Credits: 3
This course explores the legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities in the treatment of substance use and addictive disorders. The course examines frameworks for ethical decision-making for addiction counselors within state and federal law and national professional parameters. Content includes confidentiality, informed consent, duty to warn, and multicultural and professional competence.
Prerequisite(s): Admission and/or graduation from a CSWE-accredited MSW program, admission to Graduate Studies, and permission from the MSW program
