This course focuses on producing data-driven journalism and multimedia stories for news audiences and reaching them primarily through social media platforms and other emerging technologies. Issues include professional branding; news curation; crowdsourcing; journalist-citizen interaction; social media optimization; social media economics, ethics, and law; and writing effectively for social media audiences.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 201 (C or better) and junior standing
