18 Credit hours

The Post-Master’s Certificate in Dual Credit English Teaching is intended for area teachers who already possess a master’s degree, typically in Education, but would like to teach dual-credit English classes such as those offered through USI’s College Achievement Program (CAP). According to Higher Learning Commission guidelines, such teachers must have a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area in which they teach or hope to teach dual-credit classes. Thus, teachers who hold a master’s degree in Education need an additional 18 graduate credit hours in English to teach dual credit English classes.
