Interdisciplinary Gerontology Minor
|
|
College of Nursing and Health Professions >> Health Services
18 hours; C or better required in all courses
The Interdisciplinary Gerontology minor provides students with foundational knowledge and skills to work in post-acute settings. Students will be able to explore the diversity of the elder population, discover the demographics of our aging populations, understand how body systems change as we age, and investigate evidence-based interventions to improve quality of life. This minor is a useful add-on to majors in a variety of disciplines across the university in addition to students in other Nursing and Health Professions disciplines.
Students seeking a Health Services major with a Gerontology specialty cannot also complete the Interdisciplinary Gerontology minor.

Health Services Minor Requirements
Non-Health Services majors may pursue any of the following health services-related minors: Health Administration, Health Promotion and Worksite Wellness, Interdisciplinary Gerontology, or Public Health.
Health Services majors seeking a specialty track may declare one or more of the health service-related minors, other than the specialty area they are completing (i.e. a Health Services major with a Public Health specialty cannot also complete a Public Health minor). See the Health Services Minors for Health Services Major students section for more information.
