THTR 253 - Voice and Diction

Credits: 3

Concerned with the anatomy and function of the speech mechanism. Emphasis on articulation, phonation, and resonation. Study of voice characteristics, vocal quality, volume, rate, pitch, and force. This course requires that the students learn the International Phonetic Alphabet. Students evaluate their own speech characteristics. May be repeated once.
