The ethnography of Native American cultures through a detailed study of representative tribal units by cultural areas. The course includes an examination of historic Native American cultures from first contact with Europeans to the role of North American Indian populations as an important ethnic group in modern American life. Prereq: ANTH 262 or consent of instructor.
