The grade of a C or better is required of all core geology courses for the major.
44 credit hours in geology distributed as:
- 35 credit hours of required geology courses
- 9 credit hours of additional geology courses
- Plus 21-24 credit hours of supporting requirements as listed below:

Additonal Requirements
Nine additional credit hours of 300- or 400-level geology courses must be selected to reach the required total of 44 credit hours. A six- to eight-credit-hour summer field geology course completed at another school can be used to satisfy part of this requirement.
A maximum of four credit hours of GEOL 390 can be counted toward completion of the geology electives. Supporting requirements for Geology major
Additonal Information
Three additional credit hours in science or math must be selected in consultation with an advisor from an approved list to reach the required total of 21-24 credit hours in supporting requirements for the geology major.
Students also must complete the University required 124 credit hours, including the University Core Curriculum and a minimum of 39 credit hours of 300- or 400-level courses. |
